Month Review: June 2026

I'm not going to lie, I've been fairly busy this June, so I just sat down to write this blogpost lol.

✦ Visual Novel Devlog ✦

We have been making progress on Sanguine Sunrise! I'm not too sure if we're gonna get everything done by Jam submission day since the script is still in-progress, but I did get all of the UI finished and am working on sprites and CGs, so it's still been coming along.

The visual motifs are based off the 1920s and geometric shapes, as well as the symbol and color palette of the sun. It's been a fun change of pace using warm colors, since I usually pivot to using cool colors in my, well, everything. I think yellows and oranges are pretty colors, though, so using them for the majority of the UI was fun.

Here's our current Title Card! I'm still drawing the Cover Art.

I'm really excited to see what everyone has developed. I am trying to get through some of my backlog to carve out some free time to play all the amazing VNs coming up!

✦ I made a Webring! ✦

After closing my webring interest poll after a couple of weeks, I finally got my Project Moon Webring online!

It took me about a day + some hours to setup, mainly because I was trying to fiddle with the CSS and JavaScript the Webring widget and make sure it didn't interfere with other webrings or the site's CSS. Obviously there still might be bugs, but hopefully not haha.
I'm going to be annoying about this because I'm proud of it, but I encourage any Project Moon fan to join!

✦ DELTARUNE CHAPTER 5 RELEASE ✦

Speaking of games! It finally happened!!!! I took the day off work and everything LOL. That's how excited I was (and still am to be honest).

I played Chapter 5 on launch, and surprisingly it only took me about a day to finish it! I beat the final boss pre-nerf too, so I'm very proud of myself that my bullet hell gaming ability has improved.

I am trying not to gush too much about the Chapter on this blogpost, as I'm planning to do a writeup for that on my Games Log soon, but I had a really fun time. While Chapter 4 is still my favorite, I really enjoyed this Chapter's story and visuals as well. The Flower Family are very endearing to me. I joked to a friend that the cast and the overall plot of this Chapter reminded me of Canto 7's La Manchaland, but like inverted, and with flowers instead of vampires.

I've been playing the Weird Route since Chapter 2 *smiles*. Again, I'm saving my thoughts for my Games Log but god, it was so good. I love Noelle and Kris so much. They have so many interesting facets to them that you can really tell that they're Toby Fox's precious characters that he put love (pun intended) into writing. I've been heavily invested in Deltarune's story, and I cannot wait to see what Chapter 6 has in store for us.

✦ Other Stuff ✦

I've still been in talks about getting that certification I wanted during the Fall semester. Job hunt has pretty much been the same, so nothing new there. Hopefully the certificate will give me more oppurtunities.

I'd rather not spend every blogpost complaining about the job market since everyone knows its rough right now, so let's leave it at that lol.

I think that's it for updates on what I've been up to last month! I hope everyone has been doing well during this heat. It sucks so much, but hopefully it'll start to lessen soon. I'm looking forward to reading all the Toxic Yuri Jam entries the rest of this summer.

Thank you for reading! See you soon in July! ★
