Ma Meilleure Ennemie

Stromae & Pomme

Was my Most Played song last year lol. It's genuinely phenomenal. Stromae and Pomme's voices mesh together so well, and the instrumentals were beautifully haunting. Despite my feelings towards Season 2, I will say the soundtrack was wonderful.

The Caligula Effect 2 OST

Favorite Songs:

Gachiakuta OST

Taku Iwasaki

I've adored Taku Iwasaki's music since Gatchaman Crowds, and holy shit did they compose an awesome soundtrack once again.

I love the mixture of rock and hiphop, as well as the more emotional/sadder tracks which I always tend to love in an album. The discordant melodies of most of the soundtrack really fit the atmosphere of the Ground.

I loved the whole album but Amo's theme was my favorite. I loved the instrumentals and the lyrics were miserably sweet.

Fave Songs:

• Unravel Me (ft. Juno)
• Pure Heart
• Grime Don't Live Here
• You'll Get Burned (ft. Diyana Vasileva)
• My Favorite Treat
• Clap Your Hands

SAIKAI

Mili

While I am not a huge fan of ballads and feel that the instrumentals were a little phoned in, SAIKAI is still such a heartrending song that the lyrics and Cassie Wei's vocals more than make up for it. Ryoshu's love for Araya is so tender and raw and passionate and the lyrics express those feelings beautifully.
The two of them drive me crazy.

I've seen others interpret the lyrics also being from Rien's & Shiomi Yoru's perspective, which I can understand.
I also interpret SAIKAI as being Ryoshu singing to Araya the things she wished Shiomi Yoru had said to her, but never did. I loved this fucked up family.

Sunfaded

Hiro Shinosawa

Such a lovely J-Rock song, oh my god. I'm genuinely wowed by the lyrics and instrumentals.
I kind of had pre-conceived notions that Idolmaster's songs were all more on the cutesy side, so this is such an awesome change of pace.

Shinkai

Natori

Such a fun album!!!!! Serenade is so good that it's genuinely making me reconsider giving Oshi no Ko another chance (I loved the first episode/movie, but stopped bothering to watch after several episodes). Anyways, I adore Natori's lyricism and music videos.

Fave Songs:

• Serenade
• Propose
• Absolute Zero

Iris Out

Kenshi Yonezu

Honestly I didn't know what to expect for what the Reze movie theme Song would sound like, but Kenshi knocked it out of the park as usual. The song is fun and discordant, and it perfectly fits the atmosphere of Chainsaw Man's world just like Kick Back.

Plus: Hana did the choreography during Kenshi's live perfomance, which is easily one of the best collabs that could have happened for me.

Jane Doe

Kenshi Yonezu x Hikaru Utada

What else is there to say about this song that hasn't been said. It's beautifully tragic and it represents Reze and Denji so well. I've been loving all of the song covers I have heard, but at the end of the day I still adore how Kenshi's and Hikaru's voices go together the most.
I love DenReze so much. I'm really glad I got to hear this song in theaters twice.

Also, shout out to Yaffle for assisting on the song's arrangement! I feel like he hasn't been talked about much when people talk about the Reze Movie's music, but his music is really good (especially Wandance) and he heavily contributed to the song's composition being so beautiful.

XO, My Cyberlove

Chuu

I knew this album would be a banger when Chuu decided to go blonde. Jokes aside, I absolutely love her style. I'm really glad she's making the music she wants after everything that happened. The songs are super sweet and feel like they'd go in the OST of a Korean Romance Drama.

Fave Songs:

• XO, My Cyberlove
• Canary
• Cocktail Dress

after the sun goes down

Khalid

The songs are all super fun, I genuinely couldn't decide on just 3. Khalid's previous two albums as well as this one have been No-Skips for me.

Fave Songs:

• in plain sight
• please don't call (333)
• whenever you're gone

ReDreaming Angel

Angels of Delusion (San-Z)

The song and music video is so cute. I'm so excited for the Angels of Delusion character story. My music tastes vary immensely but sometimes I really want to enjoy cutesy hyperpop. I personally like Aria's Japanese voice (4s4ki) most.

Turn Heartbeats Into Tempo

Sān-Z

This was such a fun song for Sunna and the other girls. The ending chorus actually made me tear up a little the first time I heard it tbh.

Awake & Build

Yama

This album is really fun. Twilight obviously evokes the feeling of driving around at night, while Nisekao is a sensual song about a guy having a mental breakdown at the club. The music video is super gorgeous.

Physics

cosmosy

I really adore Cosmosy's space-themed aesthetic. The music video is very cute.

Tokimetique

TripleS

Such a cute Jpop song, and Shin Sakiura's remix makes it even more fun as well.

Your Dreamland

4s4ki

I binge-listened to 4s4ki's entire discography after the Angels of Delusion MV came out. I really adore her voice. Her songs are all really cute and have super fun instrumentals.

Delulu Pack

KiiiKiii

404 is one of my current songs of the year. The music video was very fun and charming. Getting the same composers as F(x)'s 4 Walls was insane.

Voyaging Stars' Farewell

Wuthering Waves

I don't play Wuthering Waves, but god this album is genuinely so good. I also really do like Aemeath and her storyline, so maybe I'll give Wuwa a real chance someday? Who knows, but the song is so gorgeous.

Nail

Yves

I'm still so in love with Yves' new sound. I'm genuinely happy that she's been doing what she wants with her music and experimenting with it.

"It" is my favorite track in the EP. I love the soft instrumentals so much.

Levitation (れびてーしょん)

Tatsuya Kitani

I really like the instrumentals. They feel very soft and bittersweet.

Letter

Aiobahn + 9Lana

A REALLY FUN SONG. Daoko worked on the lyrics, which is very easy to tell.

Puppet

Natori

Another Natori banger. Their music has been phenomenal lately. I love the little cat costume lol.

SET THE TEMPO

izna

The EP is really good. I adore "METRONOME" it reminds me of early 2010s song you would hear on a Nightcore video. The music video is very pretty as well and reminds me of Loona's old "Abandoned Building Aesthetic" lol.

Some of the producers and composers for Kpop Demon Hunter's "Golden" and "Your Idol" worked on this too which is very cool.

SLIP

Iyowa

Iyowa is so masterful at glitchpop. I think this is my second favorite apart from Heat Abnormal.

Chaos.exe

Sān-Z + Han.irl

The song & music video was very very cute. Norma is adorable.

Prophecy

Sān-Z + Gin Wigmore

San-Z never misses with their songs. Gin Wigmore has a very unique voice and it carries with the lyrics.

Fade Into Blue

Aiobahn

I've adored Kana Hanazawa's voice since Renai Circulation, and Aiobahn is a really talented composer. This was a very cute collab.

A really good opening for Hell Maiden. I love Cassie Wei's chanting lol. The cover art is gorgeous as well.

ROSE.

Nosu, Rosu

Literally the best music video this HoyoFair, maybe ever tbh. The way they depicted the interactions between the Villainesses and their Foils was so fucking good. Isolde loving Orpheus but still desiring revenge on the military that wronged them even if Orpheus stood in her way. Vesper envying the freedom Aria got to enjoy that Vesper couldn't because she was forced to sing for her company. Twiggy being a soldier who wanted to live as a normal girl and hated Anby for that.

The music and choreo and art direction was all so good I'm genuinely awed. Evil Women forever ❤️

The lyrics remind me of Mikaela so much, so I'm very endeared to the song.

Clover

Flavor Foley

Flavor Foley keeps dropping banger after banger. They really have a way with their lyrics that make me feel emotional no matter how "upbeat" the instrumentals are.

Rendezvous

Mili

The lyrics are really fun, and the instrumentals are super romantic! I definitely feel like this represents Mili's "sound" more than SAIKAI. (again I love the lyrics to death, but the song itself falls flat for me personally) Cassie Wei is amazing as always ♡

I Think I Spoke Too Soon

Rachel Chinouriri

Fave Songs:

• Make Believe
• One song away from crying
